It was around 1pm. I was in my room, blowdrying my hair when i suddenly heard my deardear crying loudly (distress crying). I rushed out immediately to my deardear and asked my maid what happened. My maid told me my deardear hit herself on the cheek with the yellow plastic ball. Initially, I thot my deardear hurt her eye n I kept rubbing her eye. Scared her eye got injured, covered the other eye and see if her vision is ok. Later, then my maid clarified tt it's not the eye, but the cheek. And yes! there was a red bruise forming on her applecheek. I was heartpain and scolded my maid, told her to look after Ashley properly. Sometimes, i catch my maid day-dreaming or looking in the opposite direction of my deardear while supposedly looking after her. I also can't confirm whether it was because of her carelessness that my deardear hurt herself. Can't scold her too harshly though cos i m worried whether she will bear grudges and do funny things...
Told Alan about it. And said that if it's him who was at home at that time, he would have scolded the maid more harshly...
I think overally, i m not an overly kan-cheong mommi. I do acknowledge that kids will fall down and hurt themselves. It's part of the growing up process. As long as it's not serious, I m generally ok with it. But then again, my maid is NOT supposed to day-dream while looking after my deardear.
