It took a mere 5mins for Ashley to knock out (she must be worn out from GGB).
Arnd 4.30-ish, Ashley woke up, all refreshed n smiley (flashing huge grins at me!). I made her a bowl of 鸡蛋面线 (which is a Chinese tradition to symbolize longevity for the person, I think… correct me if the interpretation is wrong yah! heehee).
Next, we went to Din Tai Feng for dinner (hehe… I wanted this bcos I simply like the fried prawn-cake… yummilicious!). As usual, I asked for a booth seat, so Ashley need not be confined in a high chair n can play around in the booth seat. Ashley is not shy at all, she keeps standing up, stamping on the booth seat, n keep repeating “jie-jie , jie-jie” (bcos on both our sides, left n right, were 2 families, with young gers). As long as she is not overly disturbing others, I prefer to let her enjoy n just be herself. I dun wan her to grow up to be shy or timid.
After a nice dinner, we went home. The cake is coming up. I ordered the mini train design from The Patissier (yep, this is the same plc where I ordered the cake for Ashley’s 1st birthday bash. I like the fact tt they use fresh ingredients n tt the cake can last only for 2 days bcos it means tt they dun use preservatives. Oh yes! I oso prefer their sponge to many others tt I’ve tried which r too flaky n loose). Ashley was fascinated by the mini train, with icing sugar animal figurines. She particularly recognized the elephant n tiger animals n keep wanting to take it out from the cake. We sang her the birthday song, n she was so happy, grinning n giggling n clapping along. We showed her how to blow out the candle n she did manage to blow 1 out. But after seeing the smoke oozing out from the extinguished flame, she kinda got scared n refused to blow out the 2nd one. And with me guiding her, Ashley cut her 2nd birthday cake! Funny though, Ashley doesn’t seem to like eating cake, but we sure did! Yummy!
Last came pressies… Alan bought her a Ride & Rescue Cozy Coupe from LittleTikes as he saw Ashley being crazy over the toy car at Fidgets. Both times we were there, Ashley just hogged the car n refused to come out, even when we wanted to leave for home. As expected, Ashley was very excited once the wrappings came off, kept repeating “Ashley sit-sit car-car.” Once Alan fixed up the car, she immediately got in n started driving.
As for me, I bought Ashley a Swarovski “It’s a Girl!” figurine. She doesn’t know how to appreciate it yet, but I would like to build up a mini collection for her. Actually, I m not the 1st one to give her a Swarovski pressie. A good fren of mine from Taiwan gave her a set of baby items from Swarovski when she was just a couple of months old.
