Nothing too exciting happened during the 4-day Xmas break-cum-weekend. I did notice something strange though. Red piping hot sales were sprouting up everywhere - Robinson's Traffic Stopping Sale, Isetan private sale, Takashimaya add'l 10% off for its namesake credit card holders, etc... plus all the boutiques r slashing their prices for as much as 70% off.
Ok, sales r not strange. The weird thing is the humongous crowd at the sales. Maybe i hvn't been around enough, but it's the 1st time i saw long queues snaking to make payment for purchases. Can't imagine how long - i would say easily 100 pple queuing up at 1 counter. Multiply tt by 6 counters per level, multiply again by 4 levels, u easily hv over 2000 pple queuing to buy stuff. Aren't we heading for a major recession, with the major industries all facing meltdown, aren't analysts warning us of the possibility of a recurrence of 1930s world depression? Aren't we supposed to be tightening our belts?
Well, all these questions hovered in my mind...
Me? I was there to buy a pillow for myself bcos the KK (think famous brand) pillow (tt darn well costs $88!!!) doesn't work. Everyday i wake up hving horrible neck ache, shoulder ache n headaches. But poor me, i didn't hv enough courage to brave the crowds, so went home empty-handed.
Ok, i m digressing... Anyway, this 4-day break was spent between trying (and failing) to brave the shopping crowds and lounging at home.
Boring huh? I know... i m a boring person. But guess wat? I m gg for a short break at the Land of the Rising Sun".... Yay!!!
P/S: I finally got the pillow tt i wanted, at $135 (which was $46 more expensive had i gotten it while it was on sale. Humph!)
