My wish.... revealed

I'd earlier blogged about taking steps to fulfilling my lifelong wish here.

Today, i've finally taken the next step. Haha... not a secret anymore, since anyone can see wat it is. Yep, my wish is to hv nice straight pearlies and today, i've finally put on braces.

HL and PY warned me it'll be vv painful during the 1st 2 days. I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that it won't be. >.<

The eating part is true though. At this specific point in time (not sure what'll happened in a few hrs' time), it doesn't hurt to eat, but i don't hv the strength to chew. At this rate, i'll probably lose a few kilos (doesn't hurt to hope rite?) :->

The funny thing is after my frens know that i'll be putting on braces, they tell me they don't see anything too wrong wif my teeth. Yeah, there are a couple of tooth which are not aligned properly, but it doesn't warrant putting on braces.

But the fact is, it's been bugging me for years n years. When i was young, my parents had no spare cash to let me wear braces. And even after i started working, in my 20s, i had the concerns that i'd need to do extraction (which i don't want), and more imptly, the social stigma of wearing braces.

Strangely, after i turned to my 30s, the stigma didn't bother me much. And i asked myself "Do you want to spend the next 30yrs wishing u'd plucked up the courage n got ur teeth fixed?" Or would you rather smile a pretty smile at yourself for the next 30yrs?"

Before I could change my mind again, i'd gotten off my butt and took action.

Now, i just hv to count down the days... hmmm.... another 550days???
