Last Saturday, i didn't cook porridge for deardear. Instead, i cooked the following for deardear AND us. Compared to the heavily-laden MSG zi-char food that we usually hv for weekend dinner, this was a welcome change.
Lunch : Shredded chicken and baby spinach with udon (i used ikan bilis broth for taste, or else the soup would be vv bland. Chicken was poached in the broth, then shredded and added to the noodles during serving time). I used udon because on a few occasions when we eat at jap restaurants, i noticed deardear like udon and would eat quite a fair bit.
Dinner: Pan-fried salmon in teriyaki sauce , stir-fried cai xin+japanese fresh mushrooms+fishballs. I pan-fried the salmon using margarine, so it has abit of buttery taste, quite tasty. Used only minimal teriyaki sauce bcos of deardear, so the gravy colour is quite light, as you can see.
To people who cook everyday or loves cooking, this is nothing to boast abt. But to a person like me, who don't like cooking, prefering to save the hassle n buy outside food instead, this is indeed something that i want to write about.
