Ashley is 2!

On this day 2 years ago, at 1252pm, Ashley Chow Le Xuan was borne into this world. She is a sweet, sweet baby, who bravely pushed her way out of Mommi’s body in just 4hrs+. Even Dr Tee was surprised at how fast the whole birth took. But luckily he made it in time to catch my baby.

Ashley is so curious about the world that she open her eyes very often during the 1st couple of days she was born (where most babies would continue to sleep often). She would gaze deeply at you, as if to tell u her secrets.

Ashley is my pride n joy. I love her much more than I ever thought I could.

Ashley is noti at times too. She would most often refuse to nap during her supposedly nap times, always wanting to spend as much time with Mommi as possible. Mommi nearly died from exhaustion for taking care of Ashley during the 2nd month of Ashley’s birth. And this was further aggravated when Ashley developed colic during the 5th week n cried non-stop every evening from 5pm (longest period was 3hrs). Most often times, hearing Ashley’s pitiful and hoarse crying, Mommi cried too. Mommi can only held her baby close to her, continuously stroking her and murmuring comforting words to her.

Mommi held on, n told herself she must be strong n she must not give up bcos her daughter needs her. And Mommi is very proud of herself.

Ashley is so adorable to Mommi. Ashley kisses Mommi now, wherever Mommi says “pain pain”, even on the leg.

Ashley is so sweet, when she walks past the cupboard n sees that the door is not closed properly, she will turn back n close it.

Ashley is so sweet that if she is in the midst of drawing on her drawing board, n she hears us hurrying her to the door to wear her shoes, she will still make sure she puts the drawing board back on the table before toddling to the door.

Ashley is so sweet that she runs to Mommi whenever Mommi open my arms for her.

Ashley is so sweet that she will kiss Mommi when she knows Mommi is sad.

Ashley is so sweet that she will put her hands on Mommi's face and give Mommi a loud smack full on the lips, and then dissolve into giggles.

Ashley is so cheeky that she will point to me whenever I ask “where is Ashley?” and then give me a huge grin.

Ashley is so cheeky that she will not kiss Mommi when Mommi asks for kisses. But, less than 10secs later, she will run towards Mommi and gives Mommi loud kisses on the cheek.

Ashley loves strawberry kisses on her stomach. It makes her dissolves into giggles, n her faces goes all red from the huge giggling. Mommi loves to see her like that.

Mommi always likes to call out for Ashley when she is in the kitchen and can’t see or hear Ashley anywhere. And Mommi especially loves to see Ashley pop her head out as if she’s playing hide n seek with Mommi.

Mommi can’t believe it’s 2 years since she’s held this little bundle of joy in her arms.

On this day, 2 years ago, Mommi is blessed with the greatest gift of all.
